Sharp for a lifetime: the self-sharpening knife block from Zwilling is equipped with KIS technology and is therefore far more than a conventional knife block. Other knife blocks are only for storing and protecting the knives. The Zwilling SharpBlock also maintains its quality and sharpness. It sharpens the knives, by the way. Sharp knives not only make kitchen work easier, they are also safer. They do not slip off and require less power to cut. It is therefore recommended to sharpen knives regularly. You no longer have to use sharpening stones or sharpening steel. The self-sharpening knife block does this work. Whenever you take out or put back a knife, it is automatically sharpened (applies only to knives without serrating). So you always have sharp knives as on the first day. The secret behind this is KIS technology. Ceramic whetstones are embedded in the compartments of the knife block, where the knife is sanded past and thus sharpened. The knife block is not only innovative, but also looks good. It is equipped with a knife set from the Gourmet series. The following knives are included: a cheat and garnishing knife (10 cm), a meat knife (16 cm), a chef’s knife (20 cm), a utility knife (13 cm), a bread knife (20 cm) and a pair of multi-purpose scissors. The kitchen knives from the Gourmet range are characterised by particularly durable, ice-hardened blades. The stainless steel blades are of course corrosion-resistant and meet the highest demands. The plastic handle is held in classic three-rivet design and ergonomically shaped. *According to German DIN EN ISO 8442-5: the cutting retention (CER) of the knife is retained, as by regular sharpening in the Zwilling SharpBlock and use according to the instructions (English language not guaranteed), the blade remains at a cutting edge level until the end of the service life (according to DIN EN ISO 8442-5).
