PERFECTLY POCKETABLE
These knives are meant to be small! On the tiniest end comes the No.2, at under 2 inches when folded! Reaching up to the No.5 at a closed length of 3 inches (5.5 inches when opened). Due to their size, these knives do not feature the Virobloc safety ring.
THE RIGHT FEATURES AT THE RIGHT COST
The simplicity of the knife’s design and it’s sustainable wooden handle makes the knife lightweight too! These mini Opinel feature the same blades and handles you’ve come to expect. Due to their size, these knives do not feature the Virobloc safety ring.
CARING FOR YOUR KNIFE
All Opinel wooden-handle knives are not designed to be washed in the dishwasher. Heat and moisture will cause any wood to swell which will make the knife hard to open at times. Opinel suggests carefully hand-washing and immediately drying the blade with a soft, dry towel. Lubricating the blade with cooking oil before closing the knife is recommended (this prevents oxidation).
MADE IN THE FRENCH ALPS FOR OVER 130 YEARS
Joseph Opinel designed his first pocket knife in 1890, creating a tool that is as robust and functional as it is simple and beautiful. From his workshop at the foot of the French Alps, Opinel forged a cult classic. Generations of artists, explorers, and farmers have carried the instantly recognizable, imminently useful Opinel knife in their pockets.
Little has changed since 1890. Rooted in history and a commitment to craftsmanship, the Opinel family still makes their knives in the Savoie region of France. Each year, THEIR team of 150 employees in France manufactures over 5 million knives, ranging from outdoor tools to kitchen knives, all to honor Joseph Opinel’s focus on quality and simplicity.
