⛵ This Marlin Spine is super nice! Very heavy in your hand, very smooth. This makes even the tightest of knots cone loose. I bought it to keep in my Bob, and thought it would be good for Paracord, but it’s bigger than I expected, so it would be great for bigger rope too. The sheath it came with is surprisingly nice, it’s not cheap vynyl, it’s leather a d really nice and includes a braded hole to tie a la yard to the spike for naval sailing use. I’m very happy!
🐳 I am very pleased with the quality. This spike looks like a fine surgical instrument, and the included seems tough and fits tight. I would recommend it to any rigger
The marlin spike has been a part of seafaring culture since the age of sail. Its name comes from the marlinspike fish, whose long, pointed snout resembles the tool. Over the years, the marlin spike has evolved, but its primary function has remained the same.
