How To Use Your Honing Steel
Method 1
Hold the honing steel in the air then starting at the heel of the knife, finishing at the tip, draw down the knife to the ceramic in a quick stroke.Switch to the other side of the rod and repeat the motion.
Method 2
Hold your honing steel vertically upright on a countertop.With moderate pressure, gently drag the edge of the knife down the ceramic in a downward slicing motion.Switch to the other side of the rod and repeat the motion.
